Next Up...Majorca 312

Next up for us is a Majorca 312 challenge this weekend. There will be a dozen of us taking on a bespoke version of the original route that follows an anti-clockwise lap of the whole island.

The 312 began in 2009 and has grown to become an 8000 capacity sell out every year. Its established a reputation as one of the toughest one day cycling challenges in the world for everyday riders. The312 sportif version has the luxury of closed roads and has now refined the route so that it can avoid going through the larger towns on the island, but we want to take on the original route.

We will have a support vehicle following us throughout the day to keep us topped up with fluids and nutrition and will be setting out at 6am on Saturday from Puerto de Pollenca( an hour and a half before sunrise).

The weather forecast looks really good with sunshine all day and temperatures around 20 degrees. I’m excited. It’s going to be quite a challenge.

Let’s see if we can make back before sundown!

Possibly the most beautiful stretch of coastal road in Europe, between Deia and Andratx

Always a moment of joy, as you crest a mountain climb

Always remember to relax and remain focussed as you fly through the switchbacks on a descent.
