New Events for 2022 in Partnership with Gliffaes Country House Hotel
We are excited to confirm a new partnership with our neighbours, Gliffaes Country House Hotel, the only 4-star hotel in Brecon Beacons National Park and are launching two special events for 2022, plus an exclusive offer for guests of Gliffaes.

April 22-24 2022 will be our “Beacons Spring Classics” road cycling weekender
Indulge yourself with a luxury stay on the banks of The Usk, be looked after like a pro cyclist as you explore the best of The Brecon Beacons National Park over two days and then finish off the weekend by watching the finale of Liege- Bastogne – Liege, the final spring classic, over a couple of beers in our Clwb lounge.
This very special weekend costs from £525 per person, is limited to 8 people and includes:
· 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast at Gliffaes Country House Hotel
· 2 days of guided riding with on the road support from our pop-up café providing all your nutritional and mechanical needs
o Day one will be 125km and 2200m climbing, tackling Magnificent Seven, including Mynydd Illtud, Blwch Cerrig Duon, Devils Elbow, Torpantau
o Day two will be 100km and 1600m climbing with a loop of Black Mountains, featuring Gospel Pass and climaxing with Llangynidr Mountain. We will be back at basecamp in time to watch the finale of the final Spring Classic Liege-Bastogne-Liege
· Full use of Compagnons basecamp with secure bike storage, bike wash, workshop, lounge, changing rooms, showers, drying room and laundry
· Daily collection from and return to Gliffaes
September 25th – 29th will be our “Grand Tour of The Beacons”
Four days of epic guided road cycling with stunning scenery around every corner and pro level support throughout the adventure. Enjoy café stops in the most picturesque locations and indulge yourself in the luxury of Gliffaes Country House Hotel each evening.
Our Grand Tour costs from £1100 per person is limited to only 8 people and includes:
· 4 nights dinner, bed and breakfast at Gliffaes Country House Hotel
· 4 days of guided cycling with on the road support from our pop-up café providing all your nutritional and mechanical needs
o Each day we will explore a different part of the national park and beyond with rides between 100 and 150km
§ Wye Valley and Begwns, including Llanbedr Hill and Twmpath
§ Cambrian Mountains including infamous Devils Staircase and Llywel Hill
§ Magnificent Seven including Devils Elbow, Torpantau
§ Black Mountains and The Tumble, scene of many Tour of Britain stage finishes.
· Full use of Compagnons basecamp with secure bike storage, bike wash, workshop, lounge, changing rooms, showers, drying room and laundry
· Enjoy a post ride beer in the Clwb lounge whilst catching up on the days action from the final week of Vuelta a Espana
· Pick up from and return to Gliffaes each day
· Mid Tour sports massage provided in our Stuwdio facility
How the events will work
Arrive on the first evening, ready to meet your Compagnons hosts for a pre-dinner drink, a discussion about the upcoming adventure and hand over your bikes to be transported and stored securely at Basecamp.
Each morning after breakfast, you will be collected by the Compagnons team from the hotel and taken the short drive to Compagnons basecamp.
You will be given a full briefing on the days ride whilst enjoying a FabFour coffee, before getting changed into kit, handing over your day bag with extra layers etc into the support vehicle and rolling out for the adventure.
On return to basecamp, shower, change (toiletries and towels are provided),and relax over a beer in the Clwb lounge before being chauffeured back to Gliffaes in plenty of time for your 3 course dinner.
Exclusive Guided Cycling Charity Offer: Cycle For Trees
Compagnons Cycling Collective is proud to be supporting The Stump Up For Trees charity that is aiming to plant one million trees within Brecon Beacons National Park.
Our initiative is called Cycle for Trees and is an opportunity for guests of Gliffaes to have a day’s guided ride from the hotel. Guided riding is a fantastic way to explore the landscape of Brecon Beacons. Our guides will give their time for free in exchange for a minimum donation of £50 to Stump Up For Trees.
This offer is available for upto one day each week throughout 2022.
