Our basecamp is now open and receiving guests.

We could not have asked for better weather conditions than those we were blessed with for our inaugural weekend.

A group of seven experienced cyclists from Warwickshire came to test out the Compagnons model and went away delighted, if exhausted, after their first adventure in Wales.

Here is what they thought:

“Amazing from start to finish. Pete, Kathy and Judith thought of everything and delivered to the highest possible levels. An unbeatable cycling experience!”

“Compagnons provided one of the best cycling experiences I've ever had, at home or abroad. Their well practised cocktail of cycling know-how, quality route planning, attentive ride support, delicious (and nutritious) dining, and great company delivered a fantastic experience for all involved. They've beautifully showcased the best that Wales had to offer so I'll certainly be heading back very soon!”

500km and 7000m of climbing were packed into four days of epic riding. Our pop up café was located in spectacular locations including Gospel Pass, Epynt, Llyn Brianne, Begwns and Devils Elbow allowing our riders to soak up the 360 degree views in glorious sunshine whilst refueling with freshly made food and coffee.

Day One: Black Mountains Loop climaxing with Gospel Pass from Hay on Wye. 113km 1500m climbing

Day two: A Big Day Out. Over Epynt, then Devils Staircase for lunch by Llyn Brianne. Back via Llandovery and red Kite Centre. 169km 2300m climbing

Day three: Breakfast at Begwns. Head north for sausage butties on top of Begwns then loop back via Brechfa Pool. 83km 1400m climbing

Day four: Central Beacons loop: Torpantau, the Elbow, Mynnd Illtyd. 95km 1550m climbing.
